The Swan
Thomas Hanson issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the Still (a piece of equipment used in the production of alcoholic spirits) and Swan tavern in Minories, Portsoken Ward, City of London.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1924; Obv inscription: THO.HANSON.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A still (in field); Rev inscription: AND.SWAN.IN.YE.MINORIES (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A swan (in field).
