The Swan
Richard Clark issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Swan in Minories, Portsoken Ward, City of London.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1916; Obv inscription: RICHARD.CLARKE.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A swan (in field); Rev inscription: IN.THE.MINEREYES.1668 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY / R.F.C. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
