The Ship
Richard Chubb issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in Minories, Portsoken Ward, City of London.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1915; Obv inscription: RICHARD.CHVBB.IN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A ship (in field); Rev inscription: THE.MINERYES.1666 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY / R.S.C. (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
