The Grocers' Arms
John Amps issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in Mile End, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1890; Obv inscription: IOHN.AMPS (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = The Grocers' arms (in field); Rev inscription: IN.MILENDE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.A / ½ (in two lines of Roman capitals, in field).

Mile End lay in Stepney, Middlesex, and is now part of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
