The Rose
George Walker issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business on London Bridge.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1762. Obv inscription: GEORGE.WALLKER.ON (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A rose (in field); Rev inscription: LONDON.BRIDGE.1667 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY / G.A.W. (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
