The Tobacco Roll and Sugar Loaf
WIlliam Burrough issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business on Little Tower Hill (now Tower Hill), Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1742; Obv inscription: WILL.BVRROVGH.ON (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A tobacco roll between two sugar-loaves (in field); Rev inscription: LITTLE.TOWER.HILL (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = W.M.B. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
