The Fleece and Sugar Loaf
Francis Bulfell issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in Little Tower Hill (now Tower Hill), Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1741; Obv inscription: FRANCIS.BVLFELL.AT (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A fleece and a sugar-loaf (in field); Rev inscription: LITTLE.TOWER.HILL.1666 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY / F.A.B. (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
