The Two Sugar Loaves
John Brond, a grocer, issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the sign of the Two Sugar Loaves, in Leadenhall Street.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1652; Obv inscription: IOHN.BROND.GROCER (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Arms of the Brand family (in field); Rev inscription: IN.LEADEN.HALL.STRET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = AT. TWO / SVGER / LOVES (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
