The White Lion
Anthony Lawson issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the White Lion, in Jewin Street.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1574; Obv inscription: ANTHONY. LAWSON. AT. Y. WHITE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A lion rampant (in field); Rev inscription: LION.IN.IEWEN.STREET.1666 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
