The Anchor
John Palmer, issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the sign of the Anchor, in Houndsditch.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1524; Obv inscription: IOHN.PALMER.IN (around field, in Roman capitals, in field) Device = An anchor (in field); Rev inscription: HOVNSDICH.1667 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.I.P. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
