The Ship Tavern
This trade token, worth a half penny, was issued at the Ship tavern, in Gracechurch Street.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1211; Obv inscription: AT. THE. SHIP. TAVERNE. HIS. ½ (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A ship (in field); Rev inscription: IN.GRACE.CHVRCH.STREET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = TAVERN (in a monogram) (in field).
