The Red Lion
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the Red Lion tavern, in Gracechurch Street.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1201; Obv inscription: THE.RED.LYON.IN.GRASE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A lion rampant (in field); Rev inscription: CHVRCH.STREETE.1650 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.S.F. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
