Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1172; Obv inscription: IOHN.SHARPE.MEALEMAN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Three wheatsheafs and I.S.S. (triad of initials with wheatsheafs around, in field); Rev inscription: IN.GOVLDEN.LANE.1666 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
Golden Lane is in Cripplegate Ward, in the City of London.
