The Sun
Edward Jarvis issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the Sun tavern, in Foster Lane.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1124; Obv inscription: EDWARD.IARVIS.AT.YE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A sun (in field); Rev inscription: IN.FOSTER.LANE.1668 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENY / E.I.I. (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
