The Magpie and Dagger ?
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the sign of the Dagger and Magpie, in Foster Lane.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1117; Obv inscription: AT.THE.DAGAR.AND (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A dagger and magpie (in field); Rev inscription: PYE.IN.FOSTER.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = M.H.D. three cloves and a crest above (triad of initials in Roman capitals with signs around, in field).
The crest on the token is: A greyhound's head erassed Argent collared Or rimmed and the ring gules charged with three toreaux, See Fairbourn 1905, i. 151).
