The Seven Stars
Robert Markham issued this trade token, worth a penny, for his business at the Seven Stars tavern, against St Dunstan's Church in Fleet Street.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1086; Obv inscription: ROB. MARKHAM. AT. YE. AGAINST (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Seven stars (in field); Rev inscription: ST.DVNSTONS.CHVRCH.FLET.STRET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = R.E.M / 1D (in two lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as top, in field).
