The Three Soles; The Three Tongues
Thomas Stroud issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the sign of the Three Tongues, at Fleet Bridge.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1051. Obv inscription: THO.STROVD.AT.THE.3 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Three tongues (in field); Rev inscription: AT.FLEETE.BRIDGE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = T.I.S. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
