Godfrey Foljambe, a comfitt maker (confectioner), issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the corner of Field Lane, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1030; Obv inscription: GODFREY.FOLIAMBE.1664 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = COM / FITT / MAKER (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field); Rev inscription: AT.FILDE.LANE.CORNER (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = G.H.F. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
