The Cock and Hoop
James Gould issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the Cock and Hoop tavern, in Fetter Lane.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1011; Obv inscription: IAMES.GOVLD.IN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A cock in a hoop (in field); Rev inscription: FETTER.LANE.1664 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.S.G. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, field).
