Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 856; Obv inscription: IOHN.SMITH.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Three crowns (in field); Rev inscription: ONE.DOWGATE.HILL (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENY / 1668 (in four lines of Roman capitals, in field).
