The Fleece
William Dew issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Fleece in Dice Quay.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 829; Obv inscription: WILLIAM.DEW.AT.DICE.KEY (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A fleece (in field); Rev inscription: NEAR.BILLINSGATE.1668 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENY / W.M.D. (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
