The Naked Man
John Collis issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in Cow Lane (now Smithfield Street), Smithfield.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 765; Obv inscription: IOHN.COLLIS.IN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A naked figure holding a staff (in field); Rev inscription: COW LANE 1657 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.A.C. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
