The Willow Tree
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the sign of the Willow Tree, in Cloak Lane.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 670; Obv inscription: AT.THE.WILLOW.TREE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A willow tree (in field); Rev inscription: IN.CLOAKE.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.P.B. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
