The Tun and Arrows [Harrows]
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the Tun and 3 Arrows tavern in Bishopsgate without, Bishopsgate Ward, City of London.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 272; Obv inscription: AT.THE.TVN.AND.AROWES (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A tun pierced with three arrows (in field); Rev inscription: WITHOVT.BISHOPSGATE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = W.B (in field, in Roman capitals).
There is also a trade token in the museum collection issued for an establishment with the same name in Bishopsgate Street, NN16514, See also token numbers 6589 and 6590 in the Sylloge of Coins of the British Isles, 59, The Norweb Collection: Tokens of the British Isles 1575-1750, Part VII - City of London.
