Edward Nourse, a girdler (belt maker), issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in Bishopsgate Street (now Bishopsgate), Bishopsgate Ward, City of London.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 247; Obv inscription: EDW / NOVRSE / HIS. FAR= / THINGE / WORTH. OF / COPPER (in six lines of Roman capitals, in field); Rev inscription: NEXT / THE. BVLL / IN. BISHOPS / GATE / STREET / 1666 (in six lines of Roman capitals, in field); Large octagonal shape.
