The Three Crowns
Edward Marshall issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the Three Crowns, in Beech Lane (now Beech Street).
Boyne & Williamson (1669) reference London number 167; Obv inscription: EDWARD.MARSHALL (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Three crowns (in field); Rev inscription: IN.BEECH.LANE.1668 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY / E.I.M (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
Beech Street lies in the ward of Cripplegate Without, in the City of London.
