This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the Ball in Basing Lane (now part of Cannon Street).
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 142; Obv inscription: AT.THE.BALL.1659 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A ball (in field); Rev inscription: IN.BASSING.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = B.A (in field, in Roman capitals).
