The Three Morris Dancers
John Lisle issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the 3 Morris Dancers in Aldersgate Street, Aldersgate Ward, City of London.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 43; Obv inscription: IOHN.LISLE.AT.THE.3 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Three morris dancers (in field); Rev inscription: IN.ALDERSGATE.STREET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY / I.A.L (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
