The Sugar Loaf
Robert Rhett issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in Addle Street (now Basinghall Street).
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 12; Obv inscription: ROBERT.RHETT.1666 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A sugar-loaf R.K.R. (triad of initials in Roman capitals around sign, in field); Rev inscription: IN.ADLE.STREETE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
