Bowl
Part of a decorated samian ware bowl, form Dragendorff 29 made in one of the potteries in South Gaul. The upper rim is rouletted and the base is grooved within the footring. Zonal decoration includes, foliate scroll in the upper zone and a dog chasing a hare interspersed with leaf-tip blocks in the lower zone with a concentric chevron band below. Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire.
