A near complete plain samian cup, form Dragendorff 38, made in Lezoux, central Gaul. Finished in an orange-red slip with blotched finger-marks on base ring. A stamp on the base indicates that this vessel was made by Iulinus ii of Lezoux.
Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire.
