Scoop, samplers round metal measuring scoop with handle
This metal scoop, which was probably collected from the Royal Docks in newham, was typical of the type used in the docks for collecting samples of cargo like grain or tea for inspection by potential buyers or Customs officers. This example was manufactured by the engineering Bryan Corcoran Ltd, which was based at Mark Lane in London from around the 1780s until at least the 1920s.
