Port & River — 1900-1935
Sample jar, sample of orange berries
Sample of orange berries imported through London's docks, probably from the Mediterranean. Orange berries come from the tree 'citrus aurantium' or 'bitter orange'. The peel oil from the fruit is used as both a flavouring (in Seville marmalade) and aromatic oil.
