Part of a decorated samian ware bowl in four pieces, form Dragendorff 29, stamp: OF.MUR inside base, the mark of the potter Murranus of South Gaul. Decorated with scroll decoration in the lower zone, and panel decoration including animal figures (hares), in blocks. Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire.
