Boat
South part of the longitudinal section of the mast step of a boat. From a Romano-British barge, which sank c. AD 150 while carrying cargo of building stone from Maidstone (Kent) to London. Two iron nails remain in situ and a coin of Emperor Domitian, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 81-96, was found in a recess.
