Cup, sports cup
Glass cup with a gladiator design. Inscription at the top: .]VLV[. (tops of letters lost). Lower (main) (from left to right): gladiator with helmet and shield on left arm advancing right; head, with crested helmet, of second gladiator lying on the ground. Possibly from the same mould as TW70<279>, but a much sharper impression. The name can be restored as 'Spiculus', from a complete cup from Chavagnes-en-Pailles, France.
Technical information: Colour: monochrome blue. Good quality glass, few bubbles. Unweathered. Parts present: body. Isings form 12 variant; cylindrical shape. Technical features: mould-blown. Two zones of decoration separated by cordons.
