Sherd of 'vesicular' fabric vessel with a dark grey core and a reddish brown exterior, with a slight rounded shoulder. Probably 'Post-Deverel-Rimbury' tradition. A 'vesicular' fabric has small holes in the texture, particularly on the exposed surfaces, where tempering agents such as shell or limestone fragments have been leached out by acid in the soil.
