A plain samian ware dish, form Dragendorff 15-17R made at La Graufesenque, South Gaul, finished with a red glossy slip, with a ring of rouletting. Reconstructed from sherds with some resotration. The base is stamped OF FRONTINI (F inside O, TI elided), for the potter Frontinus of La Graufesenque.
Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire.
