Cup
A plain samian ware cup, form Dragendorff 27 made in Gaul, finished with an orange-red glossy slip. Reconstructed from sherds and with some restoration. The base is stamped BACCI M, for the potter Baccos.
Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire.
