Decorated samian ware bowl, form Dragendorff 29, stamp: PRIMIMA inside base, the mark of the potter Primus of Montans and La Graufesenque. Decorated with zones of leaf tips interspersed by an eagle with outspread wings accompanied by two smaller birds in upper zone,with an undulating scroll in the lower sone. Samian ware is high-quality Roman tableware made in Gaul (modern-day France) and exported throughout the empire.
