Coin, nummus AE3
A copper alloy nummus of Emperor Constantine I, ruler of the Roman Empire, AD 306-337. The back of the coin depicts a globe and altar. This coin was minted in Treveri (modern day Trier, Germany), AD 322.
Obv: Cuirassed and laureate bust of Constantine I, facing right, holding a sceptre. Obv inscription: CONSTANTINVS AVG. Rev: A globe set on an altar, which is inscribed VO / TIS / XX, with three stars above. Rev inscription: BEATA TRANQVILLITAS, PTR in exergue.
