The Grocer's Arms
John Eve, a grocer, issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in the parish of Brookland, Kent.
Boyne (1889) reference Kent number 39. Obv inscription: IOHN.EVE.AT.1671 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = The Grocers' arms (in field); Rev inscription: BROOKLINE.GROCER (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.K.E. / 1/2 (triad of initials in Roman capitals with denomination below, in field).
