The Goat
Thomas Williams, a coal seller, issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business against Strand Bridge, Middlesex.
Boyne (1889) reference London number 3027; Obv inscription: THOMAS. WILLIAMS. COAL. SELR (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A goat (in field); Rev inscription: OVER.AGAINST.STRAND.BRIDG (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY (in field).
