Coin, dupondius
A copper alloy dupondius coin of Emperor Augustus, ruler of the Roman Empire, 31 BC-AD 14. The back of the coin depicts an altar. This coin was minted in Lugdunum (modern day Lyon, France), AD 10-14.
Obv: Laureate head of Augustus, facing right. Obv inscription: [CAESAR AVGVST]VS DIVI F [PATER PATRIAE]. Rev: The altar of 'Roma et Augustus' at Lugdunum. Rev inscription: ROM ET AVG.
