Post-Medieval — 1682-1683; 17th century
Beaker, tumbler
A beaker of tapering cylindrical form with plain, everted rim. The upper half chased and embossed with a ‘guilloche’ band and naturalistic blooms; the basal edge decorated with a profiled wire. On the base are London hallmarks with the date letter for 1682-3. The base is also inscribed with later ownership initials ‘M' and 'T' with the date '1783’. The rim is split and seems to have been re-hammered.
