A miniature ‘capstan’ salt with a circular well and reinforced base. The touch under the base of ‘IC’ in a beaded circle, is the secondary touch for smaller objects, used by John Colson, London, OP1057A (in OP as ‘Joseph’), who opened his shop in 1670/71. Date: late 17th century
