Capstan salt
A capstan salt with a shallow concave well, flared rim and domed foot. The body is decorated with two bands of incised circumferential grooves and the foot has ogee-style mouldings. There is an obscure touch mark under the base by an unidentified maker. This vessel would have been used to contain salt and would have stood on the table during meals.
