Lid, baluster measure lid
The lid of a baluster measure with a ridged wedge and bud thumbpiece, decorated with concentric turning and stamped with five ownership marks in beaded circles. The marks comprise the Stuart Royal Arms (used from 1603-1649 and from 1660 to 1694) with an ownership triad of ‘K’ over ‘I’ and ‘M’. The lid is plain underneath. Date: late 17th or early 18th century. (see also A16797).
