Handle
Bone handle formed from a longitudinal slice of mid-shaft bovine, horse or red deer long bone. The cancellous structure of the bone has been exposed on the inner, undecorated surface. Outer surface entirely covered with carved decoration, forming handle of rather stylised man's head with full beard and crown, perhaps to be used a method of attachment. There is a tiny amount of copper salt staining.
