Scoop, apple and cheese scoop
Apple and Cheese scoop. Sheep metacarpus, left side, fused. The distal end has been elaborately decorated on the medial and lateral condyles with incised lines arranged in a switching configuration. The proximal end has been cut off. The shaft has broken towards the proximal end; but probably originally had a scoop. The handle (the only point surviving), is exquisitely decorated on every side, with pilaster, criss-cross lines, hatching, borders etc. The anterior surface has a heart within a classical temple, surmounted by geometric decoration and the initials M B in relief.
